Every year the same thing happens: the first cold snap hits, every shop in the Lower Mainland books out two weeks, and you spend a Saturday morning in a waiting room. We do the swap where your car is already parked.

When BC actually requires winter tires
October 1 to April 30 on most designated routes; some lower-elevation routes end March 31.
Designated highways include the Sea-to-Sky to Whistler, the Coquihalla, Highway 3 and Interior routes. Metro Vancouver city streets are not designated.
A legal winter tire carries the 3-peaked mountain snowflake (3PMSF) or M+S marking, with at least 3.5 mm of tread.
So if your winter includes Whistler, Manning Park or the Okanagan, the law applies to you even though you live in Surrey. And below about 7°C, winter compound grips better than all-season regardless of what any regulation says. Current designated routes (Province of BC).
